The Gray Wall Jumper is a widespread and common tropical salticid. In the New World Menemerus bivittatus ranges from the Gulf Coast states (along with records north to California and Virginia) and Mexico south to Paraguay. The spider also occurs in most other tropical and subtropical regions worldwide including the Galapagos Islands, India, Nepal, and Thailand. These jumpers are typically found on the exterior walls of man-made structures where they forage for a variety of fly species. They often feed after dark on and around lights. Most Menemerus species are native to the Old World and the present species is considered to be an introduced species here.
